This week was full of traveling and lots of dining out, and it showed on the scale. Weight loss will have ups and downs, so try not to get discouraged if this happens to you! NSV for the week was staying on tracking during my birthday and traveling! I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things of my normal routine and back in the gym! I do not trust restaurant or catered food at all. I think some of the food they used has hidden carbs that you assume are not there. When I go to restaurant menus online and look at the nutrition for foods, I am always surprised. Naked chicken wings should not have 3 carbs per serving! No breading, flour or coating yet they have carbs. Makes you wonder.

I went to a retirement party in June and ate some Greek salad (the caterer said there was not sugar in the dressing) and some roast pork. As I sat there, my feet started to swell to the point that I could not wear my sandals because the straps were cutting in to me. I got home and weighed myself, had some apple cider vinegar and a water pill. I was up every half hour in the night peeing. When I weighed myself in the morning, I was 7.5 lbs done from the night before (and back to where I was the morning before). Usually my night weight is 1 – 2 pounds more than my morning weight. Not sure what they put in the Greek salad and pork but it had to be something like sugar.

I have been stalled for the past couple of weeks but I have had been traveling and had company here. I worked with 5 people this summer to switch them over to keto. With company here, I was cooking a wide variety of things so that they could see there are replacements for some of their favourites. I was teaching them how to make foods I don’t usually eat a lot of: Fathead pizza, pancakes, waffles, muffins, cheese danish, cookies, berry ice cream. When my last batch of company left, I did a 36 hour fast to reset and have cut out all nuts, dairy and sweeteners. I am finally losing again. I have never been a sweets/dessert person and I was eating way too much of those things. They didn’t make me gain but I was not losing either. It is nice to be back on track again eating the foods that I enjoy and make me feel good.

I have been fascinating by your steady weight loss. I do not lose like you at all. I will stay the same weight for a month then lose 3 -4 lbs a week for a while. A 0.6 lb weight gain is so small and nothing to even concern yourself over. With your period, it is probably just water weight and will be long gone (plus more) in no time at all.

Thanks for the update, I look forward to watching it every week.

Thank you so much! I relate so much to what you said…it can be difficult to truly know what is in your food unless you make it yourself. I really appreciate your support! I’m so proud of you for sticking to what works for you and staying on track even with some stalls…we all have them! I think my body was in such a shock that keto really helped me lose a lot of weight quickly but I have a feeling it may start to get harder. Regardless I’m in this for so much more than weight loss now and I feel great! Talk soon! XOXO
