June 21, 2017 at 5:18 pmHi Suzanne, just started the Keto plan, and on my 2nd week. Found your site and first of all congratulations on your success. I enjoy your website. I’m hoping this will work for me.
I have about 150 to lose total. So far I lost 6.4 but then gained 0.5. Makes me a little nervous that this won’t work cause I am way below in calories compared on what I ate before and 20 carbs and honestly expected a little more weight loss and wasn’t expecting a gain so soon. I try to do the intermittent fasting, I eat 1 or 2 meals a day just cause I know I can really over due the eating/snacking and this keeps me on track.
Looking forward to reading your blogs, etc.

November 29, 2018 at 3:47 pmHi Debbie,
I also just started a week ago and noticed that my weight loss had stalled. I was mentally calculating how much I was consuming and assumed it was sufficient, but when I sat down and wrote out everything I had for the day I realized I wasn’t getting enough fat! I hope this is also your issue and I wish you success in your new lifestyle journey! Stay positive and don’t get discouraged. Great things are happening 🙂

December 10, 2017 at 1:56 amHello!!! I had a quick question about the macro calculator you use. Do youfind that the protein macro is a little on the hight side. Is this the same calculator you use to figure out your keto macros when you first started. Thank you, you are an inspiration
Suzanne
December 10, 2017 at 5:32 pmHello! The protein percentage is a scientific calculation that uses your height and weight to calculate how much protein is required for maintaining lean body mass. You can play around with your macros, but I think these calculations are a great starting point!

April 19, 2018 at 11:35 pmHi. I’m having problems staying in ketosis. Yesterday I tested using a blood meter and was at .7, today I received a reading of LO. My carbs are below 15 net and I have decreased my proteins. I have been eating keto for about 2 months and have only lost 10 lbs. Help please. What else can I change? Thanks for your story and inspiration.

May 25, 2018 at 4:05 pmJust finished reading Simply Keto cover to cover and just have to say that as an avid reader and cook book collector, your book was one of the most well put together books I have come across! Great job!!!!

June 15, 2018 at 2:33 pmHi Suzanne and Keto Community! I just started the Keto Diet today. I had 1/2 of Suzanne’s biscuit in a mug, 2 eggs and 3 slices of bacon. I hope that sounds like a good start. I’m a very picky eater so I am using a tracker to ensure I meet my macros, which are 14g net carbs, 89g Fat and 71b protein. I’m looking forward to sharing and hearing your stories as well. I am a cancer survivor (my husband had bladder cancer and I had colon cancer–we were diagnosed within 3 weeks of each other) but, unfortunately my husband didn’t survive and died April 4th this year. When I read that this helped with fighting cancer–I had to make a total change in diet and hope for the weight loss as well. Thanks for listening.

September 6, 2018 at 12:33 amHi Suzanne…. A dear friend of mine… surprised me this afternoon with your wonderful book !!!!! I must say this was written perfectly !!!! I can’t imagine it being a y better written !!!!! The time and effort you put into this has definitely come from your heart and soul !!!!! I can’t wait to get started with your 30 day menu plans. I started the Keto Program about two weeks ago….Your are and will be my inspiration during my journey. I am a broken woman from two failed marriages… I never thought I would be left by myself at my age !!!! I basically have given up on life…due to this and have gone through multiple surgeries in the last year. My energy level is almost non existence with all the anthiesia that’s been pumped into me. But with the Lord’s help He’s kept me going…. I am so proud of what you’ve accomplished and now helping others. Blessings to you and your family !!!!! Angie

December 4, 2018 at 10:46 pmI am in my 3rd week with Keto and I am experiencing a lot of fatigue. Is this a normal way to feel? I’m trying to stay with it. I’d like to try for 2 months if I can just get more energy going.

January 9, 2019 at 1:17 pmLove the book and I’m ready to go, is there a weekly shopping list to the 30 day meal plan. I just can’t get myself to sit down and go recipe by recipe to create one. Thank you so much.

October 14, 2019 at 4:12 pmExcited to start the meal plan, but I’m hoping there’s a grocery shopping list somewhere so I don’t have to go through each recipe to make a list. Surely someone has created one! Help!

October 25, 2019 at 5:52 amI went through every keto book at the bookstore. None of the food looked good to me. Then I can across your book. I love it! It’s the best book on keto, beautifully designed and the recipes are amazing. The information is so easy to understand. I have many keto books but yours is by far my favorite.

January 4, 2020 at 8:50 pmI just received “Beyond Simply Keto” the day after Christmas! Wow – fast! I will try this bagel recipe very soon, as I suspect it would make a yummy pizza, and pizza is my favorite food. I know I’ll use it for other ” sandwich” stand-ins, as well. Been waiting for a recipe like this! Thanks, Suzanne. Your new book is fascinating so far, as good as the first!

February 10, 2020 at 12:45 amHi Suzanne,
I am loving both of your books. I have not come across a recipe that I don’t like. Thank you!
I am confused about 1 thing concerning the weekly meal plans provided in the books. Most weeks, the meals do not hit my required macros for the full day. I am currently on a 1500 calorie plan with 5% Net carbs, 25% protein, and 70% fat. Just to give you an example, in Week 2 Day 10 of the Beyond Simply Keto Book, the total calories total 1071, 76 G protein, 74 grams fat, and 13 net carbs. None of these hit the goals. Do you have any recommendations with how we reconcile the recipes/meal plans with the macros that we should be consuming?
Thanks for your help!
Suzanne
February 12, 2020 at 5:08 pmHey there. Based on your personal macros, you eat more or less of the items provided. Since each person has different macros, it’s impossible for book meal plans to be exactly personalized. You can also add in snacks, side salads, dressings etc. : )

August 4, 2020 at 5:28 amHello, my husband and I started keto a little over a week ago. We both need to lose some weight, he has a congenital heart condition and I am on the way to diabetic. I have noticed a difference in how I feel already! I was wondering if you recommend exercise alongside a ketogenic diet? What worked for you?
🙂 Thanks for your book Simply Keto…so far we love every recipe we’ve tried!

August 5, 2020 at 6:44 amHey there. So glad to hear you’re feeling better! I have always struggled with working on consistently, but I try to get active by going for walks, playing with my daughter and I try to go for a walk or clean when I’m on the phone so that I can use that time to get things done and get some exercise in.

January 13, 2021 at 7:55 amI love this bagel recipe. But, I have arthritis and it is hard for me to knead the dough by hand. What kind of mixer do you recommend? Would a hand mixer with a dough hook suffice or do I need to invest in the expensive stand mixer?
Suzanne Ryan
January 14, 2021 at 2:09 pmHi there! I think a hand mixer with a dough hook should work fine.

January 23, 2021 at 6:08 pmHi there, I purchased your simply keto book but I noticed a lot of the recipes do not specify what a single serving size would be (the amount of food/portion). For instance, the creamy pesto chicken says it yields 4 servings, and the book breaks down how much one serving would be—But what portion of the meal is considered a one serving (1 cup? 2 cups? etc).
Suzanne
January 24, 2021 at 10:17 amHey there. Thanks for the feedback. With that recipe, we didn’t do cup measurements, but we are going forward. I just make it and divide it into four equal servings and eat one.
Laurie
January 29, 2021 at 2:28 pmThank you for your response! Your book had some great recipes.

January 27, 2021 at 7:21 pmHi, I’m excited to have bought your book and begin my keto journey today and live what I’ve read and tried so far! I notice many of the muffin recipes have almond flour. I have an almond allergy; do you recommend another type of flour please to substitute? Thanks, Laura

March 15, 2021 at 12:07 pmHi there, I got your simply keto book and I noticed in your website there’s a list for “beyond simply keto”, can i use the same list to guide myself to follow the 30 days that is on the book simply keto?
Thanks,
Gabbt
Suzanne
March 15, 2021 at 3:41 pmHey there, the list that is on the website is for Beyond Simply Keto. It was an idea we had for the second book, but you can use it as a shopping list for sure!
