This Keto Hot Toddy is the perfect after-dinner cocktail to enjoy with friends during the holidays, or on a cold winter’s night. Spices, lemon and tea spiked with bourbon and sweetened with keto-approved sweetener. It’s a cup full of comfort and warmth!
This classic cocktail normally includes hot water, bourbon, honey, and lemon. You won’t miss the honey because we use no-calorie and no-carb brown Swerve in this recipe.
Ready in just a few minutes, this is sure to become a holiday favorite to share with a special someone next to a warm fire.
First, add water, star anise, cinnamon stick and cloves to a small pot over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, and let simmer for about 5 minutes. The longer you let it steep, the spicier it will be. Turn off the water and add tea bag to steep for 3 more minutes. Take out tea bag and spices.
Now stir in the juice of ½ lemon, brown Swerve and bourbon. To make a virgin Hot Toddy, use 16 oz of water and omit the bourbon. Stir until the Swerve is completely dissolved. Serve with a cinnamon stick as a garnish for stirring and/or a slice of lemon.
