Thank you for sharing your story. My wife and I have been on this Keto health journey.
I noticed that you had skin removal done. Is that something that is covered by insurance or is that a fully out of the pocket expense. I am not bothered by it at all but the skin has caused an issue for my wife’s mental state. With regrets of losing weight. Thank you for any suggestions or feed back

You did so well handling Joy’s dissent. When she said there are “no large scale studies done over time”, it shows her lack of knowledge. Sadly, more people will believe her because she is well-known.

    Again, great job!

I have to applaud you on your appearance on Megan Kelly show. I thought you were very passionate and told how and what worked for you! I am awaiting your book. I have done the more healthy fat and low carb in the past and have to say it is the best I have ever felt. I have fallen off the wagon since spring and the Holidays have taken a toll on my body with achy bones, bloated belly and all over yuck feeling. I am excited to get back at it and look forward to receiving your book to follow a better plan. Americans on the average are obese and if we portion control like eating 4 chips or 1 scoop of ice cream, just doesn’t work. I want the whole pint or half the bag of chips. The food pyramid just doesn’t work or we would all be a size small. I get nutritionist have to caution people on starting plans, but to me all these foods are doable.

My husband and I have been doing Keto since March 2017. He’s lost almost 50 lbs and is now maintaining. I’ve lost almost 40 lbs. I agree with you 100% on the food addiction. Before Keto I would be hungry all the time. Now I don’t feel that constant craving for food. It’s truly life changing. I wish more people would give it a chance. Also my doctor is supportive and all my numbers have dropped, as well. She (my doctor) said, and I quote, “Keep doing what you’re doing.”

I’m an RD and can’t, for the life of me, understand where that lady got that info that ketosis is taxing on your kidneys. How about high carb taxing your pancreas, leading to insulin resistance, obesity and diabetes.

I must say—-I did not like the way the today show presented the keto diet and the questions they asked you. You were so graceful. I would have totally said “well, actually, the research you follow is sponsored by food companies and….” I just hate how people will accept something so easily (low fat good) when clearly the obesity epidemic is a direct result of this brain washing. The segment was basically like oh well this woman did it if you want to cool. But it’s not the best choice for people wanting to truly be healthy. I was just not pleased at all… you deserved better than that. They didn’t even mention how much research you put into it yourself and how damaging sugar is. Ok I’ll stop. Preaching to the choir. I wish I had your grace.

    Great job!
I do have to say that the dietician for the Today show does NOT know what she is talking about… her information is so outdated… I also watched the IF segment and they called it the “new trendy diet” or something dumb like that. People are so ill informed about their health.

You were AMAZING despite the inaccurate (and insulting) information being thrown your way. I love your confident, calm and inspiring demeanor. You are such a positive advocate and voice for the Ketogenic lifestyle. I am so proud of you and grateful for your commitment to spreading the good news about Keto. I have lost 80+ pounds since starting Keto in August of 2016. This lifestyle has changed my life. Thank you! PS, love your book and looking forward to seeing you next week in Berkeley!

I followed Dr Atkins diet 15 yrs ago and people thought I was crazy. This is basically the same regimen. I saw your interview on Megan Kelly and you handled yourself beautifully with Joy. Bought your book today – love the recipes! Congratulations and hope your book tour brings you to Louisville, KY.

Kudos to you! I agree with all the ladies above in congratulating you on handling the nutritionists disdainful reply. I was a little mad for you and when I saw how calm you remained I was so impressed. I am so excited to see how the ketogenic lifestyle will heal my broken body and self-esteem.

Hi Suzanne! I admire your grace and aplomb in handling the questions on the Today show segment. While I acknowledge the training and education that registered dietitians and other medical profession receive, if they have never suffered from a food addiction, they really can’t comment with any understanding of the patient. I am a a food addict, suffered from an ED for years…. The medical establishment’s stance of all things in moderation, etc does not work for me. I am finding the keto eating plan keeps me binge free. I ordered your book this morning, and am excited to try the new recipes. Thank you for you example of grace under fire, your transparency and giving back to others!
